Current events make plain the negative real-world consequences of “alternative facts.”  At the same time, evaluation strives for greater equity by expanding our ideas of what evidence is and better representing marginalized groups’ realities in our work.  How are these intertwined issues showing up in your evaluation practice?  What can evaluators do to address the epistemic crisis and build a more equitable world?

Join other Seattle Evaluation Association members as we discuss Donald Trump and the Rise of Tribal Epistemology by David Roberts (May 2017). We're very excited to come together as an association to how we, as evaluators, can expand our ideas about evidence and avoid tribal epistemologies.

    Moderator: Tatiana Masters

Tatiana Masters is a consultant at Evaluation Specialists, a small woman-owned firm that works with non-profit, philanthropic, and government clients to help them improve their prevention, health promotion, and social service programming at community, state, and national levels.

This event is part of our monthly Journal Club. Shortly after registration, you will be emailed resources for reading/watching/listening and the virtual meeting link. The meeting is scheduled over your lunch, so feel free to grab some food before the discussion!

Are you an independent consultant working in evaluation?  Join us for this networking opportunity to connect with others in the PNW doing similar work!

For this meet-up our topic is Ask a colleague! We will spend some time getting to know each other's work. Bring a question or dilemma you'd like to discuss with our independent colleagues. For example, are you wondering how to approach an RFP or are you looking for resources to improve your workflow? We'll put our heads together, share resources and expertise, and brainstorm solutions as a team!

This will be a virtual meet-up due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon registration you will be emailed login information.
