Welcome to the first journal club of 2022!
Insights from systems and complexity theorists are the foundation of complexity-sensitive evaluation, a topic that some find daunting yet everywhere we look, it seems to be needed.
Recently, American Journal of Evaluation (Sept 2021) included an example from the education sphere that we will focus on in this session. The author/evaluators do a nice job of summarizing key concepts from the body of theory and then describe a couple of practical approaches they’ve successfully used.
Earlier this year New Directions for Evaluation (Summer 2021) also published a themed issue – “Systems and Complexity-Informed Evaluation: Insights from Practice”. This issue has several examples of practical approaches applying these evaluation concepts to assess various types of programs.
This Journal Club will be facilitated by Annette Ghee, PhD, MPH. Many thanks to all members who participated in 2021!
After registering for this event you will receive an email with the Zoom link as well as the reading resources.
